Jill Almond
Jill Almond is a senior resort consultant with over 35 years of experience in coordinating the planning, approval, design and construction of successful development projects. Jill focuses on projects with a land development component including: resort and community planning, real estate development, resort governance, economic forecasting/feasibility studies and resort transportation planning. Jill has assisted many of our clients in the implementation stage of the project, obtaining master plan and development approvals, advising on legal and governance structures and coordinating architects throughout design development.
Since 1994, Jill has directed Ecosign’s work on the transformation of Sun Peaks Resort into a four-season mountain resort in accordance with the Sun Peaks Resort Master Plan, originally prepared by Ecosign in 1993. During this time, over $500 million has been invested by the resort and private developers to create an 8,000 bed resort village and associated recreational facilities.
In 2005, Jill directed a team of consultants in the preparation of a Best Practices Guide in Resort Development for the BC government. Jill's transportation projects include the development of a Comprehensive Transportation Strategy for the Resort Municipality of Whistler, a 3-year project involving extensive public consultation as well as smaller projects for the resort communities of Zermatt, Livingo, Keystone, Banff and Rossland.
Prior to joining the Ecosign team, Jill worked for five years in a project management capacity for a major real estate developer on two large capital intensive projects; MetroCentre, a $210 million office retail complex and the redevelopment of the Toronto railway lands.
Jill is a registered professional civil engineer with a Master’s degree in Business Administration; she holds a membership in the following professional associations:
