Ecosign has been a key partner for the Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation since 2005, contributing to the development of the resort through several phases of planning and design.
Initially, Ecosign focused on integrating village improvement projects and creating a Base Area Master Plan that encompassed the ski area’s landholdings. Notable achievements included detailed grading plans for the installation of the Christie Peak Express lift and the renovation of a 20-acre beginner area in front of the gondola, enhancing accessibility and skier experience.
By 2010, many projects outlined in the Base Area Master Plan were completed, leading Ecosign to create an amendment to the Master Development Plan in 2011. This amendment served as a conceptual blueprint for future developments, submitted to the U.S. Forest Service. The plan included provisions for new lifts, expanded trail networks, increased snowmaking coverage, and enhanced recreational offerings for both summer and winter.
Ecosign’s ongoing collaboration has addressed various challenges, such as optimizing trail flow and creating a new Learning Center, now known as Greenhorn Ranch. Through detailed site planning and ski area design, Ecosign has helped position Steamboat as a leading destination ski resort, accommodating increased visitor capacity and enhancing the overall guest experience.
