Ecosign has completed two projects for the Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort: a phased Mountain and Base Development Plan, and a snow tubing and snow play area. Both projects aimed to enhance the visitor experience while prioritizing environmental stewardship.
Ecosign was commissioned to develop a phased Mountain and Base Development Plan for the Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort in Lee Canyon, located 76 km northwest of Las Vegas in the Spring Mountain Range in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. Completed in 2011, the plan focused on expanding the ski area’s capacity to comfortably accommodate 4,210 skiers across 69 ha (171 acres) of ski trails. The base development plan included new parking lots and a day lodge, ensuring the resort could provide improved skier services while maintaining its commitment to environmental stewardship.
In 2018, Ecosign expanded its work at Lee Canyon by designing a new snow tubing and snow play area, along with a year-round adventure activity centre near Lee Canyon Road. The new developments were planned to enhance the resort’s summer and winter offerings while minimizing environmental impact. Ecosign’s approach prioritized sustainability, ensuring that all facilities were designed and constructed in an eco-friendly manner. These additions have helped position Lee Canyon as a more versatile destination for both winter sports and outdoor summer activities, contributing to its appeal as a year-round recreation hub near Las Vegas.
