Georgia Smith
Georgia Smith is a Planner at Ecosign and a Registered Professional Planner and Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners (RPP, MCIP). She is a proud graduate of the Regional and Urban Planning Program at the University of Saskatchewan and joined Ecosign in 2026.
Georgia is most engaged with the research and planning side of resort development, where she analyzes zoning, regulatory frameworks, and mountain resort design principles and translates this information into clear plans and compelling visuals. Her work allows her to combine analytical and creative skills while supporting resort master planning and helping bring long‑term visions to life. She has experience working in both the public and private sectors of planning, giving her a well‑rounded understanding of the planning and development process from multiple perspectives, and she values collaboration to help streamline complex requirements toward successful outcomes.
Outside of work, Georgia has volunteered with the Canadian Ski Patrol as a volunteer patroller, supporting mountain safety operations and first aid responses. This experience deepened her appreciation for the complexity of mountain operations and the importance of teamwork in creating safe, high‑quality guest experiences.
Previously living in Calgary, Saskatoon, and Kelowna, Georgia is excited to now call Whistler home. Happiest spending time in the mountains, you can often find her downhill skiing in the winter. And during the warmer months enjoying time running, hiking, camping, and paddling. Growing up close to the Rockies, some of her favourite places include Kananaskis and the Kootenays, particularly Bannock Point on Slocan Lake. Some of her favourite ski hills include Red Mountain in BC, Castle Mountain in Alberta, and a recent trip to Japan has added Rusutsu to her list. As a newcomer to Whistler, she is excited to explore Whistler Blackcomb and the Sea to Sky Corridor in search of new favourites.
