Turufjell Skisenter Norway

Ecosign's 2021 Master Plan for Turufjell Ski Resort outlined a family-focused, four-season destination with 11 lifts, expanded ski terrain, and two resort village developments. By 2024, Ecosign advanced the project, detailing alpine trail expansion, a chairlift, and ski-in/ski-out cabins.
Ecosign developed a Master Plan for a small ski area and cabin development near Flå, central Norway, 125 km northwest of Oslo, Norway. Turufjell is the closest alpine ski resort to Oslo, making it opportunistic for second homeowners. In 2021, Turufjell AS hired Ecosign to develop a Resort Master Plan to inform their growth into a family-oriented four-season resort with a compact village core and expanded ski terrain. We completed a Resort Master Plan that included 11 new lifts and three moving carpets with a total capacity of 6,900 skiers per day; the Turutunet Village at the base of the two existing lifts with 400 units; and a new mixed use village core was identified and designed with 480 units at the base of Kristnatten Mountain. The Master Plan includes an access gondola from the Fla valley to the south and a pulse gondola from the Skarsdal valley to the north. The total resort capacity at build-out includes 2,200 cabin and apartment units plus a variety of summer activities and trails.
After completing the Turufjell Resort Master Plan in 2022, Ecosign was engaged again in 2024 to prepare a detailed plan for Turufjell’s first detachable chairlift, alpine trail expansion and ski-in/ski-out cabins.
