Ecosign's visionary planning at Thaiwoo Resort transformed it into a premier four-season destination, blending on-mountain adventure with a vibrant resort village. Our comprehensive Master Plan created a haven for adventure, leisure, and luxury, setting new standards for resort and four season recreation excellence.
Commissioned by Raissun Investment Company in 2010, Ecosign developed a comprehensive four-phase Master Plan for Thaiwoo Resort, featuring 436 ha of skiable terrain, 46 ski lifts, and a capacity for over 30,000 skiers per day. The first phase, completed in 2015, introduced a vibrant village with hotels, residential units, and state-of-the-art ski facilities, all within walking distance of the slopes. The village's lively pedestrian streets, centered around a gondola plaza, offer a dynamic mix of dining, shopping, and entertainment, from ice skating in winter to outdoor patios in summer.
Ecosign’s vision extended beyond winter, transforming Thaiwoo into a year-round destination. The 2021 Phase 2 design introduced new recreational activities, including a commercial village, water park, spa, and facilities for summer activities like mountain biking, zip lines, hiking, and music festivals. With its thoughtful integration of four-season amenities and its capacity to host over 80,000 guests, Thaiwoo has emerged as a premier destination in Hebei Province, China. Ecosign's innovative design has redefined mountain resorts, blending adventure, luxury, and sustainability in a seamless, awe-inspiring environment.
2010
In 2010, Ecosign was commissioned by the Raissun Investment Company to complete a comprehensive detailed Master Plan for Thaiwoo Resort, located 16 kilometers east of the City of Chongli in Hebei Province. At build-out, the Four-Phased Resort Master Plan features 436-hectares of skiable terrain, 152 kilometers of ski trails, 46 ski lifts, capacity for 33,235 day skiers, and a base area comprised of two resort villages offering 48,000+ commercial beds and 33,000+ residential beds.
2012
To incorporate year-round recreational activities, Ecosign prepared phase two of the master plan in 2012 featuring a breadth of amenities: an 18-hole golf course and practice facility; aquatic centre and spa; Euro Bungee trampoline; cinema; multiple nightclubs; youth centre; downhill mountain biking trails; rock climbing wall; ropes course; paragliding; an equestrian centre; fishing; RV camping; tennis and basketball courts; snow tubing; mini golf; ziplines; an alpine coaster; MCC action carts; disc golf; sightseeing; hiking; and an amphitheatre for mountain music festivals.
2015
Raissun Investment opened the first phase of Thaiwoo Resort in December 2015, with a capacity for 4,800 day skiers across 71 ha of skiable terrain; a two-section, eight-passenger gondola; one six-passenger detachable grip chairlift; a detachable grip quadruple chairlift, several beginner moving carpet lifts; a terrain park, snow tubing, and a family adventure zone.
The Phase 1 village is comprised of 3-, 4- and 5-Star Hotels plus a mix of public and private residential units, offering a total of 2,200 commercial beds and 600 residential beds. All of Phase 1’s bed units are within comfortable walking distance to the ski lifts, recreational activities and commercial centre. The village’s pedestrian street is anchored by the gondola plaza and the family adventure zone, and the main village plaza features an ice-skating rink, summer water play fountain and outdoor patios for dining and entertainment.
Thaiwoo Resort’s village, designed as a European-style pedestrian village, boasts ground floor retail, skier service and commercial space with overnight accommodation units on the upper floors.
