Ecosign proudly designed lift systems and pistes for Hyundai Sungwoo Resort that endured typhoons. After rapid construction, skier visits surged, prompting Ecosign's involvement in a Phase Two expansion before its 2012 rebranding as Welli Hilli Park.
In 1993, Ecosign prepared a Ski Area Master Plan for Hyundai Sungwoo Resort, located approximately 85 km east of Seoul, South Korea. Ecosign’s work involved the siting and specifications for all lift systems, the detailed design of all the pistes (including layout plans, grading and drainage plans,) and snowmaking coverage recommendations. The grading and drainage plans for the pistes have successfully withstood the impact of heavy rainfall generated from typhoons that have frequented the area.
After the Master Plan was completed in 1993, the Hyundai Corporation completed construction of this major resort in a period of sixteen months. During the first year of operation, the area welcomed over 350,000 skier visits; by the second year, this number increased to over 450,000. In response to the increased visitation, Ecosign was subsequently commissioned to assist in the resort’s Phase Two plan.
In 2011, Hyundai Sungwoo Resort was acquired by Shinan Group and in 2012 was renamed to Welli Hilli Park.
