Ecosign conducted a Feasibility Study for the Spuzzum Nation's all-season South Anderson Resort project in British Columbia. We prepared a Technical Assessment and Master Plan, outlining the resort's four-season recreation opportunities.
In 2021, Ecosign prepared a Feasibility Study for an all-season mountain resort located within the Spuzzum Traditional Territory. Located on the banks of the Fraser River, the Spuzzum Nation is a small Indigenous community whose traditional territory includes the South and Central Anderson watersheds in southwestern British Columbia, Canada.
The study yielded favourable resort sites, including a ski area site with a capacity of 9,000 skiers per day. In 2023, Spuzzum engaged Ecosign to prepare documentation for an Expression of Interest application under the province’s Alpine Ski Area Policy. Ecosign prepared the Technical Assessment and Master Plan concept for the EOI report, including a land use plan. Two site visits were made to the area in the winter and summer to confirm the quality and feasibility of developing resort facilities.
The South Anderson Resort project is BC’s first greenfield, Indigenous-led all-season mountain resort project. The proposed resort site is located less than three hours from Vancouver, Canada, providing excellent four-season recreation opportunities for the city’s growing population.
