Ecosign’s Master Plan for Soda Springs Ski Resort enhances family snow adventures with an expanded ski area, added snow tubing lanes, and the playful Planet Kids zone. Our Master Plan incorporated children’s activities, relaxation zones, and a pulse cabriolet lift for seamless access.
Soda Springs Ski Resort on Interstate 80 is located between Sacramento, California and Reno, Nevada. It is a popular snow play and family adventure destination serving the Sacramento basin, San Francisco Bay area and northern California.
For many of the guests, this is their first experience skiing and snowboarding, snow tubing or playing in the snow. Ecosign’s Master Plan included an analysis of the existing ski area, snow tubing and family snow play zone, and detailed expansions of the ski area and guest facilities, snow tubing lanes, and the creation of a new family snow play area, Planet Kids.
Ecosign identified a large zone perfect for a children’s learning to ski area; adult relaxing and viewing area; snow tubing lanes; mini Z snowmobile course; and children’s adventure zone with activities such as bouncy castles, igloos and ice village, tubing saucers and carousels, and a themed restaurant. At buildout, the Master Plan proposes a pulse cabriolet aerial lift connection from the existing skier service lodge and parking area with an intermediate stop in a different recreation zone, before reaching Planet Kids and the expanded ski terrain to the west.
