In 2013, Ecosign designed the Wanda Indoor Ski and Winter Sports Resort in Harbin, China, featuring innovative layouts for skiing and snow activities. Opened in 2017, it stands as one of the world’s largest indoor snow parks, blending skiing with playful attractions.
In 2013, Ecosign prepared the conceptual design for Wanda Indoor Ski and Winter Sports Resort. Hired by Harbin Haxi Wanda Plaza Co., we prepared two conceptual designs for a 80,000 m2 cold area in Harbin, Heilongjiang, China’s northernmost province (population is 10 million). The designs were prepared in a schematic format to showcase the location of the primary functions required for an indoor ski facility: placement of two lifts; slope shape and their general geometry; a generous snowfront (or apron) area; and the approximate size and location of the skier services. Wanda Indoor Ski and Winter Sports Resort opened in 2017, and it is one of the world’s largest indoor snow parks. One of the park's key features is that visitors can pair skiing with snow play at an indoor snow castle.
