During the winter season 2018–2019, Ruka’s slope experience was revolutionized by Finland’s most extensive network of Express Lifts. The Village-2-Valley Pulse Gondola across the Tunturi seamlessly integrates the developing Ruka Valley area with the services of an existing pedestrian village. A 6-passenger Village Express chair lift and a new slope have been completed on the front slopes. With a growing network of Express lifts, over 20 slopes are accessible to skiers, and with the upgrades able to serve more than just non-skiers, as both Village-2-Valley gondola and Village Express chair allow pedestrians, all seasons and summer bikers.

Thanks to new gondola and village express Ruka’s skier visits rose to 405,000 up 6 percent from the previous year .
