Ecosign's work for Mount St. Louis Moonstone began in 2022, when we created a Master Plan focused on capacity expansion and improving the winter skier experience. We also explored other concepts for four season recreation and other development opportunities.

Ecosign began working with Mount St. Louis Moonstone in 2022 to develop a long-term Master Plan for the ski area located just minutes from Toronto. Recognized for its strong winter business, the resort aimed to enhance its capacity and overall guest experience.

One of Ecosign’s key tasks was to analyze existing skier flow and identify site constraints and opportunities. This analysis led to the recommendation for Canada’s first eight-seater chairlift, which would significantly improve guest comfort and alleviate capacity challenges during peak times.

In addition to the chairlift installation, Ecosign explored various options for expanding recreational activities throughout the year, including summer offerings. The proposed expansions are designed to enhance the resort’s appeal as a year-round destination, catering to diverse visitor needs.

Ecosign’s Master Plan also includes Resort Village Design and Four-Season Recreation Planning, ensuring that all aspects of the resort are integrated and sustainable. The comprehensive approach not only addresses immediate needs but also lays the groundwork for future growth and development at Mount St. Louis Moonstone, positioning it as a premier destination for outdoor recreation in Ontario.

Since beginning our partnership with Ecosign in 2022, we have completed several major resort expansion projects and developed a comprehensive Master Plan to guide our long-term vision. The Ecosign team, particularly Senior Mountain Planner Dave Felius, has been exceptional to work with. Their systematic, solutions-driven approach helped us overcome complex challenges and achieve outstanding results in a very short time. The Huter family is extremely proud of what we’ve accomplished together and looks forward to future projects.
