Mieke Prummel

Senior Resort Planner

Ms. Mieke Prummel is the senior resort planner in Ecosign’s base area planning division, having joined the Ecosign team in the early 1980’s. She is a Landscape Architecture graduate and has gained her experience in mountain resort planning during her career at Ecosign. Mieke has focused her efforts on leading projects that include major base area master plans or mountain resort village design components. Her specific duties on the design team include the coordination of the project, client communication and the design and programming of the base area facilities.

Recently Mieke has completed Base Area Master Plans for new resort villages in Foppolo Resort, Italy, in Rio Villegas, Argentina and Tyin Filefjell in Norway as well as a Technical Assessment for a new resort in Butakovka, Kazakhstan. Other recent projects include planning and design of skier service facilities in Japan and Alpine Ski Club in Ontario. She also completed a Conceptualization and Envisioning study for an overall campus plan review study focused on finding locations and new concepts for Student Housing for Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops. She worked on Ecosign’s Master Plan in Grindelwald, Switzerland, which included a Base Area Land Use Concept and a more detailed Village Renovation Plan, expanding the Pedestrian zone. For Courchevel, France she worked on the Master Plan Report and cooperated with architects on Renovation plans for the existing terminal hub in Courchevel 1850. For Ontake Resort, Japan and Castanesa in Spain she completed a Technical Assessment and Master Plan Alternatives. For Mont Cascades, Quebec she was the lead planner for the Master Plan Report and Base Area Master Plan.

Other professional skills include detailed planning of recreational improvements, landscape design, mountain resort feasibility studies, extensive grading projects for road alignment, parking lots, ski runs and ski lift location and development applications for subdivisions in mountain communities.

Ms. Prummel holds a degree in Landscape Architecture from Rijks Hogere School voor Tuin en Landschapsinrichting, Boskoop, Holland.

Ms. Prummel was a volunteer member of the Bicycle Task Force in the Resort Municipality of Whistler. As a long time Whistler resident, she was one of the founding members on the board of directors of AWARE, the Association of Whistler Area Residents for the Environment.
