Ski Area Design
Ecosign prepared a global overview and study of ±30,000 sq.km surrounding the Lake Baikal Special Economic Zone in the Republic of Buryatia and Irkutsk Region, Russian Federation. This included a review of satellite and aerial photography, inspection by helicopter, 4×4 truck, foot and boat. We identified 7 potentially viable four season touristic sites and then prepared a technical assessment and comparative evaluation of these 7 potential sites. A Master Plan Concept of the preferred site, Peak 1771 (Gorya Buchya) to accommodate 65,000 skiers per day was prepared which included a Land Use Plan for 3 Resort Centers, 1 lake front marina village, 18 hole championship golf course and tourist accommodation for 71,500 beds.
