Winter Park USA

Ecosign has been responsible for master planning at Winter Park, Colorado, since 2001. In 2017, we prepared a 10-year development plan that describes the long-term vision for the ski area.

Focusing within their permit area, the Resort Master Plan included expansion of skiing onto Vasquez Mountain, and a ski lift and ski trail connection from the Town of Winter Park to the Resort. The calculated skier carrying capacity (SCC) at buildout was 18,070 skiers per day, an increase of approximately 2,660 skiers per day from the existing SCC. 

During its time as owners of Winter Park Resort, Intrawest Resorts Holdings, Inc. also created a plan detailing the potential development of the base area. Intrawest identified opportunities to improve and add to the base area amenities; increase accommodation, including ski-in/ski-out; increase the vitality of the resort; and reduce the need for the use of private vehicles by people staying at the resort.
