The past fifteen years has seen the transformation of the Mount Mackenzie Ski Area into the Revelstoke Mountain Resort (RMR), a powder loving skier’s paradise with an increasing array of summer recreation activities.
Ecosign Resort Planners (2016) Ltd. was retained in the spring of 2019 to prepare a detailed Master Plan of the Resort Village and surrounding neighbourhoods to guide development over the next ten to fifteen years.
Plans include an additional 2,600 units in the form of hotel rooms, condo-hotels and single-family residences, for a total of 8,000-bed units, 10 per cent of which will be for employee housing. The village core will be anchored by the existing Revelation Gondola and Sutton Place Hotel. It will continue to be pedestrian-only and feature underground parking, restaurants and retail space.
The village will also be integrated with a golf and resort facility with hotel and residences. The Cabot Pacific brand will commence clearing for the golf course in early 2021 and the course is expected to be ready for play in 2023.
