Ecosign has been retained by Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation since 2005.
One of Ecosign’s first projects with Steamboat Ski & Resort Association (SSRC) was the integration of the village improvement project, exploring development concepts for SSRC’s landholdings at the ski area base to create a Base Area Master Plan.
As part of this work, our team prepared the detailed grading plans for the installation of the Christie Peak Express and the revamped 20-acre beginner area in front of the gondola. By 2010, many of the projects around the Steamboat Ski Resort base area that were included in Ecosign’s base area study were complete. In 2011, Ecosign was retained by SSRC to prepare an amendment to the Steamboat Ski Resort Master Plan, accounting for the changes to the base area, and to address the requirements for on-mountain improvements.
The Master Development Plan Amendment Ecosign completed for SSRC in 2011 was a conceptual blueprint for the next decade. It was submitted to the United States Forest Service, outlining plans for new lifts, expanding the trail network, adding and renovating skier day lodges, increasing snowmaking coverage, increasing other recreational activities offered in summer and winter, and potential additions and upgrades to existing infrastructure.
