Changbaishan China

In 2010, Ecosign completed a comprehensive Ski Area, Resort Village, Real Estate and Overall Land Use Master Plan for Wanda Commercial Properties Co. Ltd., for their project in Fusong County, located in the north-east of Jilin Province. This project sits at the western base of Changbai Mountain and covers an area of 21 square kilometres. Changbaishan is accessible by car, high-speed rail, and the Changbai Mountain airport.

Phase one of the project included six flagship 4- and 5-star hotels forming the layout and design of the pedestrian village. Commercial outlets are located on the ground floor, with accommodation on the floors above. Phase one’s design also includes a traditional Chinese family spa, a 1,000-seat performing arts theatre, an interpretive museum, a man-made lake with a waterfront restaurant, and a golf course clubhouse. The study area incorporated 600 villas (many of which are ski-in/ski-out), one Jack Nicklaus Championship 18-hole golf course, and two Robert Trent Jones Championship 18-hole golf courses. 

The ski area is capable of servicing 7,000 skiers at one time, accessible via two 8-passenger gondola lifts, three 6-passenger high speed detachable chairlifts, two quadruple chairlifts as well as various magic carpet lifts to service beginner areas. The two gondolas provide access to a mountain top restaurant, and support lift acess sightseeing and hiking in the summer. Other recreational activities at Changbaishan include ziplining, snow tubing, an alpine coaster, mountain biking, horseback riding, water recreation, and art and music festivals.
