Alpine Ski Club Canada
The Alpine Ski Club is a private ski club located near Collingwood, Ontario on the southern shores of Georgian Bay, approximately 1.75 hours northwest of Toronto. The Alpine Ski Club area is situated on the northeastern slopes of the Niagara escarpment. Established in 1960 with the purchase of the first 50 of its current 380 acres – 120 of which is skiable – Alpine Ski Club now has 950 families sharing 35 runs.
Since 2001, Ecosign has been hired by the Alpine Ski Club on several occasions, beginning with the preparation of a Technical Assessment of the area in 2001. In 2004, both Resort Area Master Plan and Base Area Master Plan were completed which outlined improvements to the lifts, trails and base facilities. The most recent work was completed in 2014 and included the location plans for a new day lodge which was eventually constructed and completed in the fall of 2016. Two new lifts, the Summit Express and the Steeps Chair have also been built in the areas proposed in the Ecosign Mountain Master Plan.
