Spasskaya Guba, Russia
Located in the Kondopoga municipal District, 60 kilometres NNW of Petrozavodsk, the capital of the Republic of Karelia, the planned four season Spasskaya Guba Resort occupies approximately 3,700 hectares of prime recreational land including fells, forests, lakes and rivers.
The Resort Master Plan prepared by Ecosign Mountain Resort Planners Ltd. takes advantage of the exceptional solar exposure and numerous and spectacular natural amenities of the site. The Main resort village consists of 40 multi use buildings containing 8,630 overnight accommodation beds, resort services and recreational facilities. The Village buildings and associated open space are arranged to create a central commercial pedestrian street lined with restaurants, cafes and retail shops. The village street connects the Main Skier Plaza, Marina Plaza and Lakeside Plaza and provides resort guests access to overnight accommodation, the ski area and other resort recreational use areas. Crossings of the main access road are achieved through the use of land bridges providing a truly pedestrian oriented environment avoiding the potential for pedestrian/vehicle conflicts.
Winter sports such as skiing, snowmobiling and snowshoeing, summer and other seasonal recreational pursuits such as boating, camping and horseback riding are supported by destination resort infrastructure such as a Balneology Wellness and Spa Centre, Conference Facilities, an 18 hole Championship Golf Course and Tennis Academy and an Indoor Water Park.
The outlying resort lands surrounding the village and ski area offer a variety of real estate, park, trails and lakeshore access opportunities. The land has been planned for a mix of single and multi family second home and recreational getaway units while preserving large wilderness areas to ensure the beauty, appeal and integrity of the area is maintained.
