The Valle Nevado Ski Resort is located in the Andes Mountains approximately 50 kilometers east of Chile’s capital Santiago. Ecosign was commissioned in 2001 to prepare a technical assessment of both the existing facilities and review the master plan in existence at that time.

After completing the technical analyses, a preferred concept was developed for the skiing/snowboarding development. The Ski Area Master Plan was divided into 4 Phases with, in the final phase 200 hectares were developed for slopes for 10,000 skiers per day.

The base area facilities were phased to dovetail the phased improvements made on the mountain so that the resort will remain in balance throughout all phases of development. Planned development includes a central pedestrian village with accommodation, commercial and recreational facilities. At completion, the Valle Nevado base lands will contain approximately 7,600 visitor beds, approximately 1,700 employee beds and day skier parking for approximately 1,180 cars and 66 shuttle buses.
