Resort Village Design
There are two main village centers in Ruka. The original Lansi-Ruka pedestrian village and the new Ita Ruka village on the opposite side of the mountain. After several years of planning and construction, the main portions of the pedestrian village at Lansi-Ruka were completed in 2010. This village now offers more than 1,000 visitor beds, 15 restaurants, 10 shops and 360 underground parking spaces in a compact pedestrian zone at the base of the slopes.
Construction at the Ita Ruka village began in 2018 and the new Ruka Valley hotel will open in December of 2019 with 400 beds, restaurants and ski rentals. A pulse gondola, the Village-2-Valley gondola connects the two villages and has been very popular year-round also as a sightseeing lift.
