Resort Village Design
The Le Massif Ski Area is located in the Charlevoix region directly on the St. Lawrence River in Petite-Rivière-Saint François, approximately 85 kilometres northeast of Québec City, Québec, Canada.
With the proposed land use plan as per the original Plan Directeur for Le Massif, approximately 460 units containing 1,840 beds could be developed at Le Massif, yielding approximately 1,340 skiers. A development program including day skier parking and skier yield from development was included in the mountain master plan, together with an indication of the best developable terrain from a ski resort perspective.
The summit of Le Massif is the most used access point for skiers coming from the direction of Quebec City, the main skier market for Le Massif. Detailed planning for a parking lot expansion and for skiing and teaching facilities for beginners and children was completed for the Summit area, including general location and programming for a new Learning Centre, three moving carpets and two platter lifts. Detailed grading plans for lift location and beginner area ski terrain were included.
