Kimberley Alpine Resort, Canada

In the spring of 1998, Resorts of the Canadian Rockies (RCR) purchased the Kimberley Mountain Ski Resort from the City of Kimberley. RCR commissioned Ecosign to prepare a detailed Village Master Plan and Proposal Call based on the approved Resort Master Plan. The scope of the work for this project focused on urban design of the village core and surrounding real estate development parcels. Ecosign developed a schematic village plan including a daylodge / conference facility and 8 commercial accommodation buildings with 5 townhouse parcels on the surrounding lands. Following approval of the village concept, Ecosign prepared design guidelines and detailed plans for each village parcel including parcel boundaries, 3D volumetrics and building programs. This information was then put into a proposal call to sell the individual development parcels to interested developers. The Polaris Lodge (Parcel A) and the Trickle Creek Residence Inn by Marriot (Parcel B) have been constructed, in accordance with the Kimberley Village Master Plan prepared by Ecosign.
