Geilo, Norway

Geilo Fjellandsby AS is in the process of developing the Kikut area on the east-facing and north-facing slopes of the Geilo Valley. A Reguleringsplan for the ski area and a land use plan for a resort village development have recently been approved. The Kikut Commercial Logistics Plan has been designed by Ecosign for the construction of new commercial and skier services facilities in a village style development in the Kikut base area.

The Kikut Village development parcel is 2.7 hectares and the Ecosign Master Plan proposed a total of 1,680 beds. Most buildings in Kikut Village will be aparthotel style buildings with public accommodation on the higher floors and commercial space on the floors that daylight on a pedestrian street. The average size for the accommodation units in the building program are 60 square meters per unit, with 5 beds per unit. All accommodation parking is located in an underground parking level beneath each building footprint. The 3D model of the village illustrates the massing of the buildings and views through the village. A merchandizing plan for the village buildings is also included.
