Senior Resort Area Planner

Ms. Mieke Prummel is a Landscape Architecture graduate who has over 22 years experience in mountain resort planning with Ecosign. Mieke has focused her efforts on leading projects that include large base area land use planning or mountain resort village design components.  Her specific duties on the design team include the coordination of the project, client communication and the design and programming of the base area facilities.

This year Mieke has completed designs for new resort villages in Sierra Nevada, Spain, and Hemsedal and Geilo in Norway as well as resort land use plans for several other projects in BC and abroad.  Other recent projects include planning and design for skier service facilities in Japan, Alpine Ski Club in Ontario and Alta, Utah.  She is also the lead designer for the more recent developments at Sun Peaks, which range from village design and detailed streetscape design to townhouse developments, lift terminal location, as well as long range land use planning for the whole resort area.

Other professional skills include detailed planning of recreational improvements, landscape design, mountain resort feasibility studies, extensive grading projects for road alignment, parking lots, ski runs and ski lift location and development applications for subdivisions in mountain communities.

Ms. Prummel holds a degree in Landscape Architecture from Rijks Hogere School voor Tuin en Landschapsinrichting, Boskoop, Holland.

Ms. Prummel is volunteer member of the Bicycle Task Force in the Resort Municipality of Whistler.  As a long time Whistler resident, she was one of the founding members on the board of directors of AWARE, the Association of Whistler Area Residents for the Environment.
