Development Manager
Ms. Almond is a senior resort consultant
with 20 years experience in coordinating the planning, design and construction
of successful development projects. As Ecosign’s Development
Manager, Ms. Almond focuses on projects with a land development component
including: resort and community planning, real estate design development,
base area analysis and programming, economic forecasting/feasibility
studies and resort transportation planning. For
many of our clients, Ms. Almond assists in the implementation stage of
the project, obtaining development approvals, advising on legal structures,
directing architects throughout design development, and providing project
management during construction.
Since 1994, Ms. Almond has directed Ecosign’s work
on the transformation of Sun Peaks Resort into BC’s newest four-season
mountain resort in accordance with the Sun Peaks Resort Master Plan,
originally prepared by Ecosign in 1993. In ten years, over $300
million have been invested by the resort and private developers to create
a 5,000 bed resort village and associated recreational facilities. Ms.
Almond was also on the project management team that secured financing,
directed design and managed construction of the recently completed Delta
Sun Peaks.
Ms. Almond was Ecosign’s key liaison for the development
of a Comprehensive Transportation Strategy for the Resort Municipality
of Whistler, a 3-year project involving extensive public consultation. Currently,
Jill is completing the Best Practices Guide for the BC Resort Task Force.
Prior to joining the Ecosign team, Jill worked for five years in a project
management capacity for a major real estate developer on two large capital
intensive projects; MetroCentre, a $210 million office retail complex
and Southtown, the redevelopment of 35 acres of former railway lands
Ms. Almond is a registered professional
civil engineer with a Master’s degree in Business Administration.
