Resort Designer
Adam Schroyen is a Resort Designer in Ecosign's Base Area Planning Division. Adam received his Bachelor's degree in Architecture from the University of Victoria in Wellington, New Zealand. After working in an Architecture Firm specializing in medium and large scale Educational, Residential and Commercial projects he joined the Ecosign team in 2007.
Since then, Adam has collaborated on many of Ecosign's base area developments around the world including projects in China, Eastern Europe, North America and Japan. These include design schemes of varying scale from entire new resort developments such as the Mountain Village for the 2014 Olympics games in Sochi, Russia, to conceptual building design for a Daylodge and parking structure at Silvretta Nova in Austria.
In 2008, as part of the development for a full scale new ski resort in Hokkaido, Japan, Adam and a colleague spent 3 months working onsite to collaborate and coordinate with the Japanese architects and engineers with construction due to commence June 2011. On another design project for a 4-season ski and golf resort in Changbaishan, Northern China, Adam participated in an intensive design charette in Beijing that involved the client, selected architects and engineers working together to solve the many complex and logistical problems associated with a project of this scale. Adam has been deeply involved throughout the 2 year design period and the Changbaishan Ski resort is set to be completed in 2013.
In addition to his architecture and design experience, Adams proficiency with computer assisted design and 3d modeling skills enable him to incorporate new graphical techniques into the design process and to help clearly convey the often complex design solutions to client and contractors alike.
Adam has also worked for the Whistler-Blackcomb Mountain Resort for many seasons giving him an insight into the daily operations of a world class ski resort.
- 2005 Graduate of the Victoria University Of Wellington, New Zealand; Bachelor of Architecture (Honours).
